Box Office Trends : KGF 2 becomes a monster on Sunday; Yash starrer projected to earn Rs 50 crore on Day

K.G.F: Chapter 2

K.G.F: Chapter 2 is a 2022 Indian Kannada-language period action film written and directed by Prashanth Neel, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner Hombale Films.

Box office: est. ₹ 390 crore

Production company: Hombale Films

Language: Kannada

Written by: Prashanth Neel

The film has also established Yash as a marketable name in the Hindi regions, and if he makes the right decisions in the future, his standing will only improve. Rocky has become an iconic figure for Yash, and audiences in the core Hindi belts are eager to see where he goes next. As of today, Yash may be classified as a box office monster, much like Rocky.

KGF: Chapter 2 is an uncontrollable beast, as the film went on a rampage on Sunday, recording 75% occupancy on its fourth day. Early trends until Sunday evening indicate that the Prashanth Neel-directed mafia thriller would earn in the region of Rs 50 crore on its fourth day, bringing its extended weekend collection to an earth-shattering total in the range of Rs 190 crore.

The film earned Rs 53 crore on Thursday, Rs 45.75 crore on Friday, and Rs 42.50 crore on Saturday. It saw a usual decline on days 2 and 3, but returned to business in a major way on Sunday. Whether on single screens or multiplexes, the Yash starrer is seeing global development and has already established itself as a smash in the Hindi belts. While the evening and night shows are still to begin, the film is likely to gross between Rs 49.5 crore and Rs 51.5 crore.

KGF Chapter 2 is just the second film in Hindi cinema history, after Baahubali 2, to gross more than Rs 40 crore in four consecutive days. In all likelihood, it will also become the first film in Hindi belts to gross Rs 50 crore or more in two days. And these receipts are coming without any help from the Southern belts, since the Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam versions of KGF 2 are all on track for big numbers in their respective states. Using a standard all-India ratio, the true worth of this Rs 191 crore opening weekend is certainly Rs 200 crore.

So far, the trend indicates that audience reports are quite pleasant, and a dominance in collections on Monday is confirmed. By the conclusion of the first week, the film will have surpassed RRR (Rs 250 crore) in the Hindi belts, and it will then embark on its road to join the Rs 300 crore club. It remains to be seen if the gangster thriller would be able to beat the lifetime collection of Dangal in Hindi (Rs 375 crore). A Monday in the 20-crillion-rupee range would put the picture in a great position to reach the Rs 400-crore club, making it the second-highest grossing film in Hindi history behind Bahubali 2. (Rs 511 crore).

Note: These are estimated collections based on early trends through Sunday evening, and we will release another report by midnight to inform our audience on the precise range of collections on Sunday.
